big helper

Today Andrew helped Jeremy and Tonya (the parents of Austen) move. He thought he was a big help moving hangers. He also carried many other things which were truly a blessing to the Minors. But towards the end he couldn't help any longer because he was just too tired to be a big helper. We hope Jeremy and Tonya will enjoy their new home, it is very lovely.

Big Spoon

We were having mac-n-cheese for dinner Monday night. Andrew was struggling to get his food because his baby spoon only would hold one noodle at a time. So we got him his baby fork thinking he could fork a few at a time, but that didn't work either. Chris got the great idea to give him one of our spoons. He put the spoon in the bowl for Andrew and Andrew's eyes got real big and said, "Wow, big poon!" Chris and I had a good laugh at that. The rest of the night Mr. Funny guy kept saying that phrase to see our response. I didn't know he could put an adjective and a noun together yet, shows you what I know. Our God has truly blessed us with a child who loves to learn and humor others.

He sure does miss his Uncle Jeremy. We sent this picture to his uncle. Doesn't he write well for a toddler who is not even two yet. Posted by Picasa

Who knows...he might be the next 4 star general. He already mentioned that he wants to be an airborne ranger and cut off all his hair. (For those not fortunate to have military cadence tapes that is one they like to sing while training.) Posted by Picasa

Whenever I pull out the camera to take a picture I can't because he decides to come and love on me ie. try to play with the camera. So if you think I have a problem with closeups it is not me it is Andrew. I am constantly pushing him back. If you could see his belly you would see my hand. I don't have the problem it is Andrew and his nosey nature. Posted by Picasa

I am that MOM

I hate to say it but I have become that mom. You know the mom with the child who doesn't match. The mom who looks cool but inside is dying because her child decided today was the day he wanted to dress like a superman just to go to Wal-Mart. This happened to me last Wednesday. Andrew came up to me just as we were about to go and run some errands and asked for a hat. I thought he meant the real cute baseball cap that is kahki and with navy blue print says "Daddy's buddy." Which I would like to interject would have looked lovely with his navy blue coat and his outfit beneath that coat. But no he points to this other hat (given by some lovely friends of mine) that is camouflage and has an orange stripe running all around it. Keep in mind that he has on no orange or colors that would really match with camouflage (I don't care what you men think not everything goes with camouflage). So I closed my mouth and prayed in my heart for strength but God said to me is this worth a battle for your vanities sake. And I said yes it is Lord. But Andrew's face of excitement told me he loved that hat and had to have it to make his joy complete that day. So I became that mom of the child not matched but I was actually beaming because my child had decided that day to become more independent and more creative with his ensemble choices. Not to say I didn't try on many occasions to leave the hat in the car but as soon as I took it off he would kindly say "Hat please." So I guess in the end I became the proud mommy of the son who chose that Wednesday to have his head camouflaged in the aisles of Wal-Mart.

He is so proud of this outfit and over time I became proud of this outfit too. Posted by Picasa

What a serious case of bed head!!!! I think it is time for a hair cut. Posted by Picasa

Pink Eye

Andrew has gotten his first case of pink eye (which lead to an ear infection). I thought maybe he got some comet in his eye while I was cleaning the tub. His eye started looking blood shot and the next day mucus started to appear (it looked like a kittens eye when they get all yucky). I was able to catch it early enough so it didn't get too bad. Who knows where he got it from. So far Chris and I have not yet caught it.

Andrew's new toy he likes to call car. It was our blessing for only $9. He also has pink eye in this pic but don't worry it is not contagious thru the computer. Posted by Picasa

This was the clan I got to watch. This picture was only part of the exciting day. We spent many hours playing skip-bo and other games. Later Austen and Kirby tried to join in but they were too tired. Posted by Picasa

This is the famous Sophia (pictured center) and her sisters Alyssa (left) and Bronwyn (right). I got the privilege of watching them one day. As you can tell we had oranges for lunch.  Posted by Picasa

Chris is giving Andrew a piggy-back ride except they call it "Aboo." So if Andrew walks up to you and says "aboo" he wants a piggy-back ride. Posted by Picasa

While this isn't a pic of Andrew it is his Uncle Jeremy who is currently stationed in Iraq. Please remember to pray for him and the many others serving as you view this picture. Posted by Picasa

This is Andrew's other uncle (Chris' brother Mike) and his cousin Sadie. Sadie just received this cool tricycle for Christmas and kindly shared it with Andrew. Posted by Picasa

For Christmas Andrew's Uncle Jeremy gave him a miniature cup. He loves that cup and wants to drink water in it all the time. Posted by Picasa

I think I now know why I have so many troubles with my phone. It looks like someone has been using it more than me. Posted by Picasa

Prayer time

I would like for everyone to know what a prayer warrior Andrew is. Andrew loves to pray at any moment. His prayers go something like this, "mumble, mumble, mumble, mumble, amen." Just a couple of weeks ago he inserted my friend Tonya's name. Just to let you know he will pray for you if you want him to.

Andrew has been learning to use the potty. Apparently he has also learned to multi-task. I hope whoever was on the other line didn't hear the flush. Posted by Picasa

This is Andrew being very cute on Saturday. Daddy wasn't up and he was trying to get his way on something. Now you see why it is hard to discipline this boy. Posted by Picasa

Andrew's dog he received for Christmas. For those out there (and you know who you are) this is Andrew's real puppy. He named it Puppy. It just needs batteries right now to be his real puppy. Posted by Picasa

This is it....the true picture of what getting that lovely Christmas photo was like. Two weeks of him crying in the santa hat. Maybe it will be better next year. Posted by Picasa

For many of you this is the picture you saw at Christmas...the previous picture tells the true tale of that day. Posted by Picasa

Andrew loves dogs. He and Ricky (named after Ricky Martin) loved to go for walks together.  Posted by Picasa
