TV Star...

Our little town had a concert to honor the first responders. There was a face painting booth and Andrew had his face painted. While having his face painted, the local news crew, who was reporting on the concert, thought Andrew's face was cute and needed to be on film*.

They both had their picture taken by the local newspaper too. Jonathan hammed it up for the camera.
*It was probably more like we were in the right spot at the right time. I believe the cameraman was in the hunt for the cutest boy and found Andrew.

Andrew's Words...

Latest conversation with Andrew...

A few weeks ago, out of the blue, Andrew asked me what farewell meant. I told him and nothing more was mentioned. Fast forward to yesterday, I was cooking dinner in the kitchen and Andrew walks behind me and casually says:

A: Farewell Mommy, farewell.
Me: Where are you going?
A: I don't know.
Me: Parting is such sweet sorrow.
A: I know.

Bath Time...

Not sure why I grabbed the camera but I did and this is all I got.
I decided to give them a 'quick' bath (is that even possible?). I was able to get Jonathan in and out but Andrew enjoys the water too much nowadays.
Jonathan was trying to hurry him up and get Andrew out of the water.
We've started giving them bubble baths. Ordinarily I can't do this, but Andrew's skin seems to have toughened up and he doesn't get dry spots any more. Since he can't put his head under with bubbles, Andrew now takes baths with his goggles.
What a sad face. I don't know why he is so sad but he is.

Free Carnival

Bedrock hosted a free carnival to the community. It was fun and we met a lot of people.
Here's the carnival gang...Austen, Jonathan, and Andrew. They had already hit the face painting tent (Austen got a butterfly and Andrew a happy heart).
Then came the snow cone and popcorn (Jonathan's personal favorite) tent.
Finally they had enough sugar they needed to bounce it off. There were 2 bigger bounce houses but they loved the smaller one. Here's the funny part, when Austen first arrived she was adamant that she didn't want to go in the bounce houses. Ultimately, she out bounced all the other kids. Either the sugar had run out or her legs got so tired, but I found her in there collapsed (and not in that passed out way).
Then they wised up and learned that if they played games they got candy; bounce houses became a thing of the past.
He's showing me some candy he won.

Almost Family Pic...

I'm so tempted to photo shop Chris into this picture. It's the most difficult feat to get us all in one photo...

P.S. Andrew is shoeless because we forgot them at a friends house.

Retro Pic...

Chris and I were going through some old photos and came across this. A friend of mine was in a college photography class and needed some practice. She later developed these in a matte finish and attempted to teach me how to do water color on them to add color only where I wanted it. I think it would have worked if I was artistic.

That is some crazy blond hair. Approximate age...19.

Broken Nose...

Andrew was jumping on the couch and managed to jump all the way across and land face first (or should I say nose first). I don't think it is a complete break but maybe a small fracture. The advice nurse told me there wasn't anything they could do for him but I could give him some ibuprofen. Only Andrew...

WARNING!!!!!!

EXTRA CUTE PICTURES BELOW*...
We were able to get away for a couple of days last weekend as a family. It was a nice mini-vacation. Andrew has been taking swimming lessons and now he is a fish. We were at the pool from 10am till 2pm and he was in the water the whole time (a small break for lunch).
Here's the small break for lunch.

Look at that extra cute boy.

Ladies don't stumble over his extra cuteness.

*Of course I realize I might possibly be the only one to think this. I'm totally partial to both of them.

Happy 4th of July

We had such a fun 4th. Our hometown had a party downtown with live music, bounce houses, one little strawberry ride, and lots of fun foods. Then we (our family and the Minor family) came back to our home to watch the fireworks. It was the coolest thing. We are so use to the hassle of watching fireworks, that we hadn't taken the boys to see them, not the story this year. All our neighbors told us we could sit in our front yard and watch them and that is what we did.
I tried to get both the boys in a cute picture but Jonathan was having Mommyitis.

The 4th of July gang...Luke, Austen, and Andrew.

In our family we call them the "blue eyed boys." It is amazing how much they look alike. That's Lukey Luke's head.

More cute Luke.

Here's our finale.

I think Uncle J said it best last night on his way over to our house, "America sure knows how to throw a party."

God Bless America

Here are some pictures of the boys playing:
Jonathan likes to crawl up in this chair and eat his popsicles.
This flag is very popular amongst the boys.
He's on lawn duty today.
Oops, something is not quite right.
Still working on it. Andrew is supporting him.
Jonathan is doing better. He still is cranky at times but not running a fever.
