Guess what he is saying here?
Guess what he is thinking here?
And here?
Wonder what they are both thinking?
I think I forgot to tell you this story of Andrew. My brother called Andrew A-dawg in front of my Dad and now that is what my Dad calls Andrew. So their phone conversations usually start with 'How's it going A-dawg?' One day after they finished talking, my smart Andrew asked me, 'Mommy, why does Pa Pa call me corn dog?' We had a good laugh but now sometimes we affectionately call him corn dawg.

FYI...

Okay, first and foremost, I watched 48 Hours murder mystery last night and I am still freaked out by it. Actually, I only watched the first half-hour and got so freaked out I went to sleep and had nightmares the rest of the night. It was about 2 sons who murdered his father and attempted to murder his mother by mutalating their faces with an axe. Their sons names were Christopher (the eldest and the suspected murderer) and Jonathan. Needless to say, my prayer time this morning was all about God protecting my sons from evil (especially where my life is at stake). I know it is a completely selfish prayer but I seriously can't shake it. If anyone watched the whole thing can you please tell me what happened.
Secondly, I have poison ivy and I have no clue how I got it. It is very tricky because it is on my hands and dealing with Jonathan is interesting. Plus, I'm having to wear long sleeves in 90+ heat. It is miserable here. Additionally, my husband won't come near me.
Thirdly, my son is addicted to our Phantom of the Opera cd. It is nice because he would rather listen to muskick (his pronounciation) than watch tv. I use to like the cd until I have listened to it 2 or 3 times every day . Now I could care less about it. Although, in all honesty, he loves any kind of muskick.
Finally, this is my 200th post!!!! Either it is a good thing or I have too much time on my hands and need to be more productive. You decide.

Entertainment

This is my 3rd attempt to post this blog. If it doesn't work out I might have to stop blogging for awhile. I really want you all to see Jonathan in this video but dropshots is not cooperating. If you all have a better way please let me know. I am about to sin over a computer site and that seems like a silly thing to sin over.
If you're wondering why Jonathan is shirtless (and let's hope you are not sinning right now looking at that cute body) just check out the date. I took this picture Sunday morning and I was waiting to the last possible moment to put his clothes on. If we don't wait he will spit-up and I'll have to change his clothes. Plus, I like to hear Andrew tell me he doesn't have any sleeves on.

Sorry this is the only way this video will play.

Finally, Girls Out Number The Boys

I had the privilege over the past couple of days to watch 5 girls (plus my 2 boys). I got to do things that I don't normally get to do, like paint finger nails and toenails, talk about girl things and not roar like a dinosaur for endless hours. By the time nap time came around Andrew was zonked. It is sad when your son is begging you to go to bed because he is so tired.

Here's Jonathan being loved on my Joy and Sarah.

Andrew, Sarah, Joy, Shiloh, Hannah, and Jael enjoying a lollipop.

Jonathan enjoying his new toy thanks to G.G. and Pa Pa.

Brotherly love.

The thinker.
One last thing, every night before Andrew goes to bed we have Bible story and prayer time. The teacher in me likes to review the story that night and other stories we had read earlier in the week. As we went over the story of Moses I asked him, "Who helped Moses part the Red Sea?" He said, "God did," and after a moment to think he asked me, "Mommy, who is dis God?" The way he said it implied that we talk an awful lot about this guy but I have never met him. I'm sure God was sitting up in heaven laughing His head off when He heard my feeble response. You think you have a grasp on something but then your when 3 year old asks and you fumble over every other word, it puts your Bible knowledge in perspective.

Thomas the Train

Just so you know...T t T kept Jonathan entertained for a solid 20 minutes. He just sat there amazed. It was fun to watch both the boys playing together (even if Jonathan just stared at the train).

We're Still Here

Sorry about the lack of updates lately. We have been in VA visiting with the grandparents while Chris was in Germany. Chris took the camera with him so I have no recent pictures of the boys (yet again, time with grandparents not photographed). A couple of days before we went to VA Andrew had the 24 hour stomach bug. He got over that with flying colors only to give it to Jonathan and eventually Mommy got it. Luckily Jonathan only had a fever and none of the other nasty stuff. While in VA I got to see my older brother and his family (sadly Jonathan couldn't come due to his illness). Andrew had such a great time (I wish I had pictures of his zeal) chasing his cousin Kirsten around. Kirsten was kind enough to play with him and entertain him so my brother and I could catch-up. He couldn't stop talking about it on the ride home. While at G.G. and Pa Pa's house we were able to go to the pool one day. I wish we could have gone a few more times but things don't always work out as planned.
We had to return early because both boys had a doctor's appointment. For those of you moms with almost 3 year olds...be prepared for this appointment. I was completely thrown back because he was treated like an adult. He had the usual weight (30 1/2 lbs) and height (37"). But then they pull out the blood pressure cuff and I was surprised (72/38). I never knew that they checked their BP so early but Andrew thought it was cool. They also checked his sight and hearing. It was weird for him not to be treated like a baby. I mean, I know he is not a baby but to be treated like a little man was weird.
Jonathan also did very well. He weighed 13 lbs 14 oz and he grew 2 inched in 2 months (25 3/4 inches). He handled the shots well and smiled like crazy.
Now I am sitting here watching Man V. Wild (regretting I didn't name my children with cooler names, like Bear Grylls, because now I fear they won't traverse Mt.Everest) waiting for my husband to return.

Back from FL

I had a special treat this weekend...no kids! Two of my friends invited me to go to FL with them for some fun in the sun (briefly interrupted by Tropical Storm Barry). It was so nice to go to sleep and have no one wake me up crying or telling me it's thundering outside. I didn't have to worry about a schedule, bottles or playing Candyland. The hard part was coming back home, not because I didn't want to parent, but to see my baby is no longer a lay around baby. He's now playing with toys and kicking his legs to make things move (on purpose). Jonathan isn't crying as much during naps and is a true joy when he is awake. He smiles like crazy (although he doesn't laugh as much as Andrew did) and coos all the time. Here are some pictures of my first day back with them as full-time mom.
Obviously enhanced, but I love his smile.
This is his attempt to sit-up. He's actually doing a pretty good job at it.
Just another cute shot.
Here's my boys. I miss the days when Andrew would simply smile at the camera. He reminds me a lot of Calvin (from Calvin and Hobbes) on class picture day. He has a great smile just before the picture is taken and as the shutter snaps the smile disappears. At least one of them is smiling.
FYI...Daddy was in charge of the boys while I was gone. He did an amazing job.

I know there's more in the vault but here is one for you to enjoy.
